Your eating MUST become counter-cultural

Did you know that the traditional three-meals-a-day pattern wasn’t based on science at all?

It actually emerged from agricultural labor schedules!

As a doctor and weight loss coach who lost 60 pounds through faith-based practices, I’m here to share how aligning your eating habits with God’s design can transform your weight loss journey.

Let’s get started!

The Problem with Cultural Eating Patterns

Let’s be honest – our modern eating habits look nothing like they used to!

From morning Frappuccinos to midnight snacks, we’ve created endless opportunities to eat without listening to our bodies. This constant grazing isn’t just unhealthy; it’s disconnected from God’s perfect design for our bodies.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:14, “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” This applies to our eating habits too! While culture pushes us toward:

      • Rigid meal schedules
      • Emotional eating
      • Mindless snacking
      • “Treating ourselves” with food

God’s design focuses on:

      • Listening to natural hunger signals
      • Eating until politely full
      • Treating our bodies as temples
      • Trusting His provision

Trust God’s Provision: Let Him Fill You

Psalm 81:10 reminds us of God’s promise: “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things.” Trusting God with your eating habits means letting go of quick fixes and allowing Him to provide what you truly need.

Reflection Questions:

          • Are your food choices driven by cravings or a desire to honor God?
          • How can you practice patience and trust in your daily meals?

Encouraging Thought:
Just as God provided manna in the desert for the Israelites, He promises to sustain you—spiritually and physically—when you follow His way.

The Promise of Good Gifts

Just like a loving parent wouldn’t give their child a stone when they ask for bread (Matthew 7:9-11), our Heavenly Father promises to provide good things when we follow His way. Yes, the path might be narrower than the cultural norm, but it leads to:

      • Better health
      • Stronger bodies
      • Freedom from food obsession
      • Lasting results

Taking Action on Your Faith Journey
