How To Make 2023 THE Year You Lose Your Weight

Happy New Year!

 

It’s such an energizing, exciting time of year, isn’t it? The New Year feels fresh and new and full of hope. It’s like playing a video game and getting an extra life! (There’s been a lot of video game playing around my house for the holidays…)

Even though we know that there isn’t anything particularly magical about the change in the calendar, there is something about closing the chapter on the year and starting a new one. One of my favorite things at the end of the year is the year-in-review series that you hear on the radio and TV. There’s something about looking back over the year and acknowledging all that you’ve experienced and lived through. You get to pause for a moment and recognize your life.

 

And then you get a whole New Year laid out in front of you! What will happen this year? What amazing and wonderful things might happen? What will you create this year? What goals will you achieve?

 

 

Let’s get to the real question: Is this the year you’ll lose your weight for good? That can be a scary question because you’ve planned to conquer your weight problem year after year without success in the past. You can be afraid to make it your goal for this year because you’re afraid you’ll fail and be disappointed again.

But I want to tell you some truth to lift you up: This can be your year! You don’t have to be afraid of making the goal of 2023 being the year you win the battle with the scale. You don’t know that you will fail this year – you haven’t tried yet. The only way you fail is when you quit. If you haven’t made it to your weight loss goal yet, you just haven’t made it yet. You haven’t failed!

2007 was my year. After almost three decades of battling the scale, I finally lost 60 pounds. I didn’t know that would be my year, but it was. It was the year I finally decided that losing weight was a problem I could solve. It was the year I gave all my effort and belief to get to the goal I wanted to see achieved. It was the year I did not give up and I kept going until I made it, even when I messed up.

This can be your year! You’re going to have to give it your all and you’re going to have to do things differently than you’ve done in the past. You’re going to have to decide to keep going no matter what. You’re probably going to have to invest in some support. You’re going to have to use your considerable brain power to focus on what you need to be successful.

All of this is possible for you. Everything on this list is within reach. You just have to go get it!
